Snow!
Last Thursday it began to snow hard and con't til the next am[c.6in].It's very beautiful and covers so much.I like to think of Isa.1:16-18 where God desires to reason with His rebelious people and promises to make their sins as "white as snow" with His wonderful cleansing and forgiveness.I'm writing from Bldg333 where we have a nice quiet Sunday morning.I hope to do some more studying and then when I get off try to rest and shake off the cold I have had for the last 2 days.I am looking forward to Christmas in Minneapolis. This winter I am wondering about where to go for vacation. It's tempting to think of the opportunities for military "Space Available" hops to various locations.Years ago I did this and flew to many parts of the USA including Hawaii twice! I got as far as Guam and then flew commercial to the Philippines in '85.There can be draw-backs as coming back from PI I was stranded on Guam for 10 days! I read the book "Robinson Crusoe,USN" while there. It was a true story about Navy Chief George Tweed hiding from Japanese forces for over 2 years until Guam was liberated in 1944.I could relate to him alittle!I just finished another book about the Isenhower's called "Mrs.Ike" by her Grand-daughter Susan.Large, thick book very well written and well researched! I really enjoyed it as I do biographies of people who have made noble and signicant contributions to history. How I often long to be one of them! Well,as the proverb,"...by humility and fear of the Lord," do we depart from evil. I just hope to keep trusting the Lord and never to be pessimistic nor fatalistic. It is very Biblical to be ambitious as Jabez'prayer proves that[IIChron.4:10].
