4th of July Long Weekend!
Yea! 4 free days! O the promise of getting things done and personal time!I listening to Dr.Sam Horn from Northland Baptist Bible College giving lessons from the life of Jonah. Ch.2 of Jonah is a beautiful portrait of someone repenting and turning back to God[all from the big fish's belly!].It seems unbelievable but God says it is so.Trials,problems and afflictions are various ways to bring us back to God.Jonah certainly knew this;I sure I hope would too!Summary-1.I'll comment later on some important matters2.Called Dad and Gregory last nite and caught up on family news.3.Called some pastors,visited and prayed with them.4.Called my sons this a.m.It was good to talk to them but it's so tragic that their mother is allowing them to slip into the corrupt and sinful world system.I miss my sons so much and I love them! I really want to spend time with them and teach them[Deut.6:4-8].5.Wed nites I enjoy New Life Baptist.Good program,excellent facility and location--I just pray that they would be more fervant for telling the community personally how to be savedMatt.10:31,32].6.Tomorrow is Sunday! I look forward to church.I think I might go up to Indy and visit Faith Baptist of Avon.What a wonderful church! Pastored by Marc Monte from my hometown of Mpls.He sang "Great is Thy Faithfulness" at my wedding in '96 as his twin bro.Mike officiated.That was supposed to be one of the happiest days of my life, when you get married and supposedly become one flesh...7.I pray for a good Sunday and then I just may wander as a gypsy over different parts of Indiana on Mon/Tues.
Inspite of it's problems,the life that God has given me as an American Christian has been so good!I've really grown to love Indiana and have had such a great tour here.As I look at the units coming and training to go to the Middleast,I am especially reminded of how privilaged I am.The rigorous training,the full combat gear and the prospect of going to the danger zones should always be a reminder of the great life I've enjoyed here at Camp__Oops!I almost gave away classified info! What if this was discovered by the wrong people?Speaking of the wrong people and earlier I spoke about a great fish.....well, I have to confess to a strange, recurring nite-mare.In this terrible dream I am transported back to a beautiful beach just like the ones I enjoyed in Hawaii.I'm taking a wonderful refreshing in swim in the ocean all alone on a delightful hot,sunny day...just a tropical paradise! You say,"How could that be a nite-mare!?" Well,as my dream[or rather nite-mare]unfolds,I notice a big fish circling me with dangerous menace!It just happens to be a Large Mouth Sea Bass.It gets even stranger as I notice this Bass is wearing glasses! The Bass seems to be blowing[blogging?]steam as it circles as though to say,"What do you think your doing here in my waters! I'm going to call Neptune on you!" Well, after that the dream becomes somewhat murky.Am I going "coconuts" or what?
