Sunday Night
Today I had off and it was nice to relax and attend all the services at church. This past week was very special as Evangelist John Van Gelderen came for Revival services Sunday thru Friday.I was really blessed and encouraged.About 10 soldiers total came during the week and one came forward and trusted Jesus as His Lord and Saviour! His name is Andrew Williams and he left for Iraq with his unit the very next day.I gave him some tracts for Christians and encouraged him to really live for the Lord.I have known John Van Gelderen's family for many years:his father,Wayne,Sr.taught me in Bible college and I travelled to the former Soviet Union with him about 15 years ago.Wayne,Jr.,was my pastor while I was in Bible college in Wisconsin.I am grateful for the love and service to God of the Van Gelderen family.Yesterday,I took a long walk just by the base where the old hospital complex was during WWII.I walked prayed, read the Bible and went thru a hymnal as my custom is.The weather was cool and comfortable with another beautiful Indiana sunset.Right now I am at the base I-net Cafe as I type[still with 2 fingers!].I frequently have to avoid this place because of the terrible movies that are shown here.I really cannot stand bad movies and the World's influence.I am so glad that I have a home in Heaven[John14:1-3]that will not be taken away!!!Looks like I will be working this Thanksgiving but over Christmas I have an approved pass[permission]to return to Minnesota; but only for 4 days.

Free Day
I woke earlier then 0500 and got up to exercise. The news helps to relieve boredom in the gym although sometime I bring my Bible or a book to read. It's now 9:30pm in the comp.lab[almost time for bed].Last nite the movie paying was so vain and bed i just left after a few minutes!Today was OK. I was able to get some letters and cards mailed and enjoy quality time at the library in Edinburgh.Later I walked fast along some pretty country roads in the are.The fall colors are beautiful! Great and edifying times with the Lord.Tomorrow back to work and then the early Thanksgiving dinner at church[New Life Baptist]in Franklin. Praying for at least 50 soldiers to come.Sunday after work I plan to be back in Indianapolis and the Monday enjoy my day off in the country. The Fall weather has been delightfully warm!

New November
Oct.'05 is now history. It was a good, enjoyable month of wonderful cooler weather and travels in the area. Thru New Life Baptist Church in Franklin we picked up over 40 soldiers for church services this month.Next weekend I hope for even more to come for the special early Thanksgiving dinner at the church. This past weekend was wonderful as I had the whole weekend off and I drove up to Indianapolis to attend a Christian Missions Conference at Faith Baptist of Avon. The church is pastored by Marc Monte whom I have known for many years from our home state of Minnesota. The church is quite large and I was able to sleep in the annex near-by Fri/Sat nites. I had a good time alone with the Lord and His Word the Bible. Sat.am was nice when we did visitation and bus calling[for picking children for Sun.am services].The weather and Fall colors were just beautiful! I was impressed with some of the neighborhoods in the area especially a new condo complex called "Saratoga",near Plainfield. Sat.evening there was a nice international dinner served in their fellowship hall with some of my favorite oriental rice dishes.Good fellowship too.Dr.Chelli from India spoke that nite too.He works at the same medical clinic that I work at but during the winter monthes he lives and ministers in India.Yes, it really was a nice relief from Army life. I had some nice conversations and even ministered to a brother in Christ who is in sorrow. We prayed together. This month I plan to do even more travelling and enjoy the beautiful weather while it lasts.I love to take books with me as I travel and stop in some nature area to read. There are sure no lack of books to read!Yesterday was Halloween. It is sad the way some people celebrate it and some of the negative effects on children. This time of year it's best to have a church harvest party and focus on thanking God for His goodness.Today,Nov.1,is "All Saints Day." Almost 500 years ago Martin Luther nailed his "95 Theses" on the church in Wittenberg protesting RC corruption.Tomorrow is my mother's birthday[81];hard to believe she's really gone!
