Back in my home state of Minnesota!
Here I am at the Crystal Public Library in the NW suburbs of Mpls.I've spent many hours here since I was a boy.I have to be quick because of time-1.Trip was tiring back to MN.My first stop was because of a bad accident just inside IL west of Danville.Traffic was backed up so I just simply pulled over under an overpass bridge and took a nice, welcome nap. After an hour or so I was able to continue.I thanked God for "recharging" my body-I felt so much better!2.Frequent stops along the way. Finally pulled into my place about 0900 and fell asleep exhausted[Fri.].3.Praise the Lord I was allowed to take my sons to Straitgate Church Family Camp in west Wisconsin. It was a really nice time. There was much sorrow too as I see my sons going the way of the World.Must close-will comment more later.I will be back to work tonite[Midnite-0600],less than 40 hrs a week and making far less money.Still, I don't have much choice and I will make the best of it.I trust God and He is faithful!

My Beloved Indiana and Camp Atterbury
Well here I am.I've said most of my "Good-byes."There's so much more I wanted to do.I am so grateful for what was done with such a peaceful, idylic life here. My regrets are that I could not not find someone who is a deeply committed Christian here on base to fellowship with.It would have made the time here all the sweeter.Yet,the times I spent alone with God and the changing seasons while reading His Word, praying and enjoying the beautiful nature here have been so precious and even wonderful.I think with great nostalgia the nice times at the Edinburgh and Franklin Public Libraries and reading so many good books.Yet,how lonely it has been at times not having someone to discuss the deep treasures I have uncovered and discovered. It was at the Franklin Lib.,that I learned that my dear mother had died[via email from Patty my sister]last summer. There's so much more I would love to write! I just am so thankful for our country and our military and the privilage-the tremendous privilage-of serving,of learning,of being part of an organization with meaning and purpose! After studying the lives of great military leaders, I just regret that I was not part of higher command and authority.Anyway, that's the way it is as dear Walter Cronkite ended his nitely broadcasts. So now, what lies ahead? I only know that it is so important to trust in the Lord with all of my heart and not trust in my own understanding but in all of my ways to acknowledge Him and then He will direct my pathes[Prov.3:5,6].10:05pm-Just got came back from church recently.I had a long heart to heart talk with the pastor after the service.I believe I was careful and discreet and entreating him according to ITim.5:1.In summary,I expressed my grief and concern over a lack of personal evangelism in general among the church members. It would take too long to relate, but I feel very relieved to share and unburden what I did to him tonite in private.1.Filled up on gas and drove thru old Franklin for a final "Good-bye."2.Dropped off tapes and videos at the Franklin Library for the last time."Pathes of Glory" with Kirk Douglas and "Friendly Persuasion" with Gary Cooper,Dorothy McGuire and Anthony Hopkins. The latter movie was very moving and precious to me because it takes place in Indiana during the Civil War.I wrote down the words to the theme song,"For Thee I Love." It's beautiful and comforting to meditate upon!Time to go to bed!

Last Days at Camp Atterbury
Hard to believe it's coming to the end.I just got off the phone with Renee. She simply refuses to have a conversation without an argument[or an accusation toward me].Well, my hopes were up to have the boys at Camp Chetek,WI with me for the church family camp, but she's backed out again.God help me!1.Weekend was OK.It was quiet.I'm surprized I forgot to put entries in my diary.2.Missed the Indiana State Fair but I have pleasant memories from last year's fair stored.3.Sunday was blessed with 55 soldiers coming to church.I praise and thank the Lord for that.I just hope and pray that those who have opposed the Gospel here would be stopped.THere's not much else.I feel really down now.Even if I were to spend 2-3 days a week with my sons how can the World's influence on their lives be reversed? God has to intervene soon, otherwise my sons are going to be like the other unregenerate, narcissitic kids that run around.

Back from Wed.nite services
This was a good week so far.I came back recently from church and also from the Franklin Library.I was really blessed from Hosea2:14 that speaks of God's desire to restore His sinning people Israel[and hence His people of all dispensations].It was a pretty day too.I took some photos.I will miss Camp "Indiana", but I'm ready to leave. Two years here is enough and it's time to move on!

Friendly Persuasion
This is a movie based upon the novel by Jessmyn West. It takes place in Indiana in 1862 during the Civil War. It's a very tender, heart-warming story of a Quaker family's adherence to pacifism in time of war.Gary Cooper plays the fatherorthy McGuire his wife and their 3 children,Josh[Anthony Hopkins], Matty and "Little Jess." I was surprized to learn that it was nominated for 6 Acedemy Awards, including Best Picture!President Reagan gave a copy of the film to Soviet Pres.Gorbachev in the '80's when the Cold War was thawing. The song in begining of the film,"For Thee I Love," is sung by Pat Boone with a beautiful symphony accompaniment;I have to admit that some tears came to my eyes as I listened it!I made some flyers and passed them out[late today] to the units so their soldiers could come and watch, but alas not one soldier has shown up for the 1900hrs meeting and it's already 1920.PTL another good day at Camp Atterbury.I spent more time in prayer and the Word this a.m. and feel so much better.Got some exercise too.1.Brought a box of books to the base library[hard for me to give up books!].2.Read more after work.3.Nice peaceful evening now.Hope to call my family soon. How I love and miss them!

Just came back from church.
Tonite in the dining hall I met a soldier I had met earlier today and invited him to church. He's newly arrived on base, a Hoosier from near Ft.Wayne. When I met him this a.m. he observed that I had the Bible on CD and asked me some questions. He felt God was punishing him and so that opened up some ways for me to probe where he was at and what was troubling him. In summary, he's not happy about deployment and he misses his family.I gently gave him some counsel[as he invited me too]and on the way to and from church we had some nice talks.I just dropped him off and he thanked me graciously and told me how much that helped him.Interestingly, the message tonite was about God's comfort! Nathan,a young Bible college student gave the message from Matt.14,as Jesus walked on the water in the storm and the disciples cried out in fear,Jesus said,"Be of good cheer;it is I;be not afraid." Beautiful promise! I gave my new soldier friend some promises like that on the way[Matt.11:28;John14:27;Heb.13:5].We prayed together and committed our respective problems to the Lord.Prov.3:5,6!1.Good day at work.Nice healthy jog this a.m.2.Praying for a decent job when I return to Mpls.3.Yesterday,sent e-card to Renee for her b-day.I've sent so much and given so much over the years and she has never acknowledged once[IJohn3:13,14;4:20?].4.Almost finished with "Inside the Third Reich" by Speer.Big thick book but so interesting that I would that it be much longer!Hope to make some notes.
