4th of July!
Almost bed time. This long weekend has'nt been very exciting, but it's been relaxing and enjoyable.I wanted to visit Terre Haute and then swing toward Bloomington but it did'nt work out.I've been to over 40 countries and almost all the states so I figured maybe another day.1.Got up late[0630]because I went to bed at 0100.It rained again this a.m. briefly.2.Read and listened to sermons.3.At noon I drove to Lake Lemon, near Bloomington, and enjoyed the afternoon reading and swimming.Mainly I focused on Stephen Ambrose's semi-autobiographical "Reflections of a Historian." I read it thru and was very impressed with his insights.Too bad he died of cancer as a result of his smoking habit.Quite a lesson for all historians.4.Lake Lemon was pretty as always.I spent some happy times there last summer.I don't ever expect to return.5.Road trip was nice too.The Indiana countryside is rich and verdant with flora and crops!6.Messageboards on the BBC have been interesting.I've contributed some and was very amused about the replies to my "Happy 4th of July to Our Mother Country!" post.Very amusing!7.Listening to my former pastor,Dr.Wayne Van Gelderen, preaching on "The love of God."
