BBC messageboards
It's been interesting to read the messageboards online at BBC.Most of the time I look at the "Wars and Conflicts" and "Christian Topics." messages.I have left some comments and even started a few topics. To those who have welcomed me if you are reading this: Thank you! It's been enjoyable to read your friendly introductory comments and replies.A few days ago I looked up "rafcommands.com" that is an historical message board for the Royal Air Force. Very interesting.I left a few comments there. One man had a site to click on where you could watch his personal video of the former POW camp,StalagIII,where "The Great Escape" took place! I read the book years ago by Paul Brickhill. The camp is surrounded by woods as it was in WWII.The soil was very sandy as described in the book and confirmed by the video.I was amazed at how long the tunnel was!It was clearly marked with flat stones.76 Allied POW's escaped; all but 3 were recaptured and 50 were shot in reprisal by the Nazi's.The camp is in Poland now;what was formerly German Silesia. Not much else.I sure get lonely at times!
