A Hot Monday
Today,I stayed inside mostly because of the heat.I got up early,had a nice QT with God.After b-fast I rode a bike around the "countryside" areas of the post.It was very pretty[although I miss seeing lakes as I do in Minn/Wis.].My thoughts turned to the soldiers that trained here during WWII[over 60 years ago!].At times I feel like taking photos for memories,and I will but mainly I'll have to take photos in my mind.I started off going to Lake Lemon[near Bloomington]at almost 1:00pm but after the first 10 miles I turned and went back thru Ninevah.Hey! that almost sounds Biblical!Just call me Jonah.I swam alittle at the base pool and then went back inside to listen to sermons and from time to time look at the "H"Channel.I've also been reading several history books at the same time in preparation to when I donate them to the library here.Just 20 min ago I caught the last part of the popular 1939 movie,"The Wizard of OZ" It's been over 30 years since I have seen it!I remember as a boy how scared I was of the "Wicked Witch of the West" because she was so mean,evil and hideously ugly.Even at my age I was afraid!Finally,water thrown in her face is what stopped her and did her in.I could'nt help remembering that Judy Garland[who played Dorothy]was from my home state of Minnesota.That sort of gives me an idea!If it worked for Dorothy,it's bound to work for me. Use the water[John3:5;Eph.5:26] of God's Word against those that are,well, like that wicked witch.I have someone in mind but out of politeness,I won't say their name.Tomorrow is our 230th birthday! Yea,America! What a great and wonderful country we live in.I do hope and pray my sons will love the God that has blessed this country,believe in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and in turn serve God and country.
