1st Amendment to the US Constitution
Let's see,how does it go?"Congress shall make no law...prohibiting freedom of speech and freedom of religion..." Sometimes I wonder of this fundamental right to all Americans is still valid.Well,it's a long story but it seems that for this middle-aged, "Beetle Bailey" here at "Camp Swampy" that my time here won't last much beyond August.I had hoped to extend for another year.Yesterday,I talked with the Chaplain and our XO.I can't relate the details.I accept responsibility for not properly communicating with the base Chaplain's office re: the church bus picking up soldiers.I figured wrongly that because visitors and businesses[like pizza deliveries]could come on base, so could a church bus.I accept any reprimands that are my just due.One very important truth that I want to convey and remind myself the rest of my life:my country and the US military have treated me very well!I have been the recipient of so many good things beyond description[including trips to Hawaii!]and I have been privilaged to work with very dedicated,loyal,professional people.I certainly will miss them.During the conversation it was brought to my attention that,"dear,sweet,Aunt Blabbi" had complained again[!].I smiled inwardly when I heard the news and had to control myself from bursting out laughing.Another Italian salvo from little crabby,"Luci Van Pelti." I think I should write the Pentagon and tell them we have a secret weapon in the USA who can single-handedly fight the War against Terrorism!If anything,the terrorists might laugh themselves to incapacity.Well,there is also a spiritual war to be fought too[IICor10:1-6].God wants His children to fight the good fight[IITim4:6,7]and that's what I need to concentrate on.David encouraged himself in the Lord[ISam.30:6],that's what I need to do right now.Praise the Lord for His blessings and constant comfort!I just pray that I will trust Him for whatever He has for me in the future
